Valentino Spring 2010 Shoes

Valentino, “the last emperor”, as described in the movie dedicated to this god of fashion, has made everyone fall in love with his creations and collections, season by season, as each of his designs is characterized by stylish, beautiful, incredible and inspirational artistic perspectives. Recently celebrating 45 years of an intense career, Valentino always manages to surprise everyone with his exquisite designs. No wonder we expected so much to see the shoes included in his spring/summer show for 2010!
Have you ever imagined a shoe collection designed for a fairytale princess? Well, maybe now would be a good time to imagine one, or better read on this article, as we’re about to discover the new shoe line included in Valentino’s spring line. Designed by Philip Treacy, the London designer, the collection reinterpreted the magic of a story in which details like lace, soft high heels and delicate detailing are merged together into a simply beautiful shoe.
In a feminine and almost timeless design, the shoes look incredible. Heels are mixed up with flats, all managing to maintain the iconic details of the collection: lace wings. These gorgeous wings flied not only in the back of the shoe, above the heel, but they were inserted also in the front of the shoe.
Even balls of lace were inserted in some cases, decorating the shoes in a very delicate manner. It’s funny how the lace goes down from the clothes into the shoes, being able to decorate both the body and the feet.
I think that Valentino’s decision to pick Treacy to design the shoe line for this collection was a very inspired one, as Philip Treacy has his own particular way of imagining things. Stylish, young, playful and beautiful, his shoes definitely made quite an impression!
