Remember the days we were young and the boys played with cars and bikes? What were you doing? I’m pretty sure you were playing with an exquisite Barbie, perfectly clothed, with an impeccable hair and some gorgeous pink shoes! Ok, I know, you’re all grown up by now, but how would you feel if a great designer like Christian Louboutin would actually go and get involved in celebrating Barbie’s 50th anniversary?

Barbie has been, in a manner of style, our first example of fashion. Understanding this very well, Mattel, Barbie’s founders, have decided to invite some spectacular names in the fashion industry to save Barbie from social negligence.
That’s where Louboutin comes in: he’s been asked to design a brand new pair of pumps. "Barbie needs to wear great shoes because every girl needs to wear great shoes," Louboutin said.
So get ready, the new Barbie will be "completely wild and will even come with mini Louboutin boxes for the shoes." Easy to say that the new Barbie is at least a true fashionistas and truly respects a pair of Louboutins!
Different Barbie dolls will be available starting next year, a classy stylish thief, and a safari-themed one and one ready to go at Cannes Film Festival. They will be released in December (the thief), February and May.
Available starting with December, the rebranded Barbie will be the perfect gift to offer! Of course, it will be a limited edition, with dolls priced at $150. The Louboutin genius will be easy to spot: pink shoes, featuring the designer’s signature, the red sole. Christian Louboutin did not only use just any pink, but the traditional Barbie-pink (Barbie Pantone 219 Pink – to be more exact).
