For the perfect complement to the glamorous Diane von Furstenberg Fall 2010 RTW show, models were packed to the rafters with heavy metallic eye makeup and contrasting wavy-textured hairstyles.
MAC makeup artist James Kaliardos has drawn inspiration by Diane von Furstenberg herself creating the 70s-inspired looks for the show.
The emphasis lies on the dramatic smokey eyes, created using MAC black cream liner as a base - applied from the lid up to the brow bone – layered with Steel Blue and Cornflower Blue pigments to add depth. Kaliardos lined the waterline with MAC's Smolder pencil to give eyes more definition and finishing the smokey eye with MAC's Zoomblack mascara.
MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation was used to give the models a flawless base, while lips were played down with MAC's Dim Lip Erase.
Orlando Pita, working with T3 at the Diane von Furstenberg Fall 2010 show, was devoted to keeping it real and simple with the hair.
After working T3's Elevate Spray throughout the hair, Pita wrapped sections around a large barrel curling iron. Using only his hands, he finger-combed the curls to break them up and give the hair natural texture.
I really want girls to forget that whole barrel curls thing," he said. "You know you're in trouble when the Real Housewives of wherever are wearing a style. And the hair shouldn't be more important than the clothes."
