Edgy, controversial and very complex in details, this season’s collection at Balenciaga emphasizes an intriguing fashion style which puts in spotlight, as a trend-mark, wild abstract prints on white patterns along with rough futuristic all-black leather clothes. Nothing simple, nothing clean, it all grows in the best way possible, making shapes feel structural and architectural, with impressive modern edgy-chic details.

Fun mixes of textile materials and colors entertain the collection by transforming a basic fashion show into playful works of art on the runway expressing a futuristic point of view regarding today’s fashion in tomorrow’s clothes.

Nicolas Ghesquiere, Balenciaga’s creative designer, said for Style.com that "The season is a game of proportion, zooming in on textures, the way seeing things with a loop (a magnifying glass) can give you different, shifting points of view. It's a bit surrealist."

Even if Balenciaga's Fall/Winter 2011/2012 outfits present are not exactly wearable, the pieces are inspiring and trend-setting for the next season. For those courageous fashionistas with a sophisticated luxurious fashion style, some of the items seen in this collection might spice up their wardrobe instantly and especially the playful shapes in jackets or skirts would definitely make a statement.
